BlackBerry and Palm candy market share from iPhone

Palm CentroIDC is the dipstick in sales in the first three months of 2008 stung and concludes that the iPhone's market share has dropped dramatically from 26.7% to 19.2%. These appliances not in use, but sales of new units sold.

IDC Analysts attributed the weakness not from Apple, but said that rivals like Palm and RIM have done extremely well. RIM jumped from 35.1 to 44.5 percent between the fourth and first quarter. They did this by further enhancing the BlackBerry offering to the upper layer of home users. This is a new market for the company, which previously focused mainly on business customers.
Palm in market share went from 7.9 percent to 13.4 percent, largely due to the Centro: a cheap smartphone, aimed at beginners and price conscious consumers. Samsung saw its market share also increased from 5.1 to 8.6 percent thanks to a new Windows Mobile smartphone through Verizon they offer. Motorola is the only aircraft manufacturer whose market share went down from 7.5 to 2.6 percent!
Still, IDC believes that the iPhone in the long term they affect the results of other phone providers.In summer, we also expect a shift, as RIM's BlackBerry Bold and 3G iPhone available and customers of other phone providers to migration. For both manufacturers, it is the first time they release a 3G handset.
