The Blackberry has 10 years, is still targeting professionals

RIM logoCanadian firm Research In Motion gave a press conference to celebrate ten years of its BlackBerry smartphone, which is experiencing a certain notoriety within companies. Paradoxically, in recent months, RIM unveiled several devices marketed to the general public, such as Blackberry Bold, Storm, or Pearl Flip Kickstart.

Yet InfoWorld magazine reported the comments of David Heit, director of software at RIM Blackberry platform, and according to him, so one might think that the Blackberry Storm has been designed to compete head on the iPhone, it was not for the company.

Faced with Google Android system sponsored by Alan Panezic, vice president of the platform says it is too soon to see any impact before mentioning the push mail technology and security measures embedded in the Blackberry Enterprise Server.

RIM announced last Thursday it sold 50 million Blackberries last ten years. In comparison, the iPhone has sold 1 million copies in two months, Verizon and 1.9 million in three months at AT & T.
