Hot breath in the neck: IPhone market share continues to increase
Despite iPad the market share of the iPhones grows. Apple conquered this yearly 16.1 per cent of the Smartphone of market in the first quarter and made thus the largest leap. The unexpectedly high international demand for that iPhone contributed to it. 



If Apple still lay in the first quarter 2009 with 10,9 per cent market share in the 
Smartphone segment, then the portion in the first quarter of this yearly rose to 16,1 per cent. IDC (international DATA corporation) in its market share report published these numbers.
To lead back of Apple is success also iPhone on the large international demand for that. In own words Apple registered breath-taking growth rates for example in Pacific Asia, which covers the area east and Southeast Asia, Australia and Ozeanien. Here the iPhone added by 474 per cent. In Japan the numbers grew by 183, in Europe by 133 per cent.
Smartphone manufacturers sold in the first quarter altogether 54.7 million devices, an increase from 56,7 per cent to the previous year. Thus Smartphones have a portion of 18,8 per cent of the entire mobile telephone market. In the year 2009 there was still 14.4 per cent.
RIM still is with the world market portion on the second place behind Nokia, however already feels the hot breath of Apple in the neck
